Not wanting to alienate owners of low-end smartphones from the PUBG Mobile fun, PUBG Corp. recently released a lighter and less resource-intensive version of the game called  PUBG Mobile Lite  which is tailor-made for budget smartphones. While the game has so far been available only in the Philippines, Tencent has confirmed that they are testing PUBG Mobile Lite and  ‘optimizing it for Indian networks and devices’ , but it is not known when the game will officially be available for eager Indian fans. After  revolutionizing the wireless sector  in India with its affordably-priced prepaid plans,  Reliance Jio  is  all set to do the same  in the fixed-line broadband segment in the country. At its 41st AGM last month, Jio’s parent company, Reliance Industries, had announced that registrations for the much talked-about  GigaFiber service will  officially commence on August 15  on the MyJio app and the Jio website. According to Reliance, the roll-out will be done on a priority basis, with locations clocking the maximum number of registrations getting it first. According to a  report by Bloomberg , YouTube is paying good money to its creators to promote its new,  Twitch -like monetization features, such as donations and paid memberships. The money reportedly ranges from tens of thousands of dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars, although, none of the creators have been identified by the report. The new features were introduced by  YouTube  last year in a bid to keep creators happy after the company sensed a growing unrest among many of them for allegedly not getting the same options to monetize their content when compared to their compatriots on Twitch and Patreon, both of which, alongside Facebook Video and  Instagram’s latest IGTV platform , are being seen in some quarters as  potential challengers to YouTube’s dominance going forward. Samsung has reportedly cut its smartphone production in China to cope up with declining sales in the country and will now shift its focus to its facilities in India and Vietnam, the media reported.  “Samsung Electronics is cutting its smartphone production in China to cope with falling sales in the country, showing how the South Korean tech giant is struggling to rebound in the world’s largest smartphone market,”  Nikkei Asian Review reported late on Monday.
