“Users have the choice to override the limit and continue downloading or push it to later to download when connected to a Wi-Fi network”
Apple recently upped the app download limit via mobile data from 150MB to 200MB. Now, with the iOS 13 release, this limit is being removed altogether. With iOS 13, when you try downloading a large size app from the App Store on a mobile network, Apple would push out a pop-up warning message about the additional data fees. Users have the choice to override it and continue downloading or postpone it to download later when connected to a Wi-Fi network. Users also have the choice to set a default option, but the permission is ‘always required’ during roaming. This is a significant inclusion and is especially handy where there is no Wi-Fi network available nearby.
Furthermore, selecting ‘always allow’ preference from the iTunes and App Store section in system settings won’t throw a dialogue warning anymore. In comparison, iOS 12 wouldn’t allow downloading over 200MB size on a mobile connection. Moreover, the iOS 13 updatebrings the most-awaited dark mode and shows a dark theme in the News, Calendar, Notes, iMessages, Photos, Share Sheet, and Music apps.
To recall, iOS 13 also brings new features such as voice control, a swiping keyboard, a revamped Reminders app, and improved Apple Maps. Apple has finally personalised HomePod to each user; this means it will have unique responses for user queries. Apple had added a new Portrait Lighting effect to iOS 13; this allows studio level adjusting of light. Siri gets the ability to read messages to out loud to users’ as soon as they arrive and can soon reply using voice commands.
