Google Assistant Integration Reportedly Coming to Android Messages

With  Google  planning to phase out Allo in the near future, the company is apparently bringing one useful functionality from the ill-fated chat app to  Android Messages . The tech giant is apparently testing the integration of Google Assistant with its native Android messaging app, although,  according to XDA , only the suggested messages feature work for now (there’s apparently no support for voice commands just yet). Screenshots Courtesy: XDA It’s worth noting that the new feature will be different to  ‘Smart Reply’  which is already present in Android Messages. Google Assistant in Android Messages will work similarly to how it works on Allo, showing users suggested messages to answer their queries, but they won’t be able to interact with Google’s intelligent digital assistant verbally. JioGigaFiber Preview Offer: 100GB Monthly Data For 3 Months with Free Top-Ups

JioGigaFiber opened up for registration on August 15, allowing users to express their interest in the company’s fixed-line broadband network. The service is not ready for official rollout just yet, but Reliance Jio is reportedly looking to introduce a GigaFiber preview offer for early testers. According to  TelecomTalk , Reliance Jio will soon start contacting users for the installation of Jio GigaFiber. To get started,  users will have to pay Rs 4,500 up front  (which includesa refundable security deposit) to get the Jio ONT (Optical Network Terminal) device, a gateway to the GigaHub Home. The preview offer is similar to what the company offered with the rollout of its Jio telecom services. The Jio GigaFiber preview offer will give every initial subscriber  100GB of data at upload and download speeds of up to 100 Mbps  for the first three months. We expect these offers to be extended, just like in the case of Jio telecom. The 100GB FUP limit will be refreshed each month,

Here’s How You Can Continue Using Call Recording Apps On Android Pie

Android Pie  went official  earlier this month and brought with it a laundry list of new features such as a new Material Theme UI for many apps, gesture navigation,  Digital Wellbeing , and more. All these features are great and will indeed come in handy in daily use, but there’s one important functionality that has been removed from Android Pie i.e phone call recording. Google has now made some changes and  plugged the workaround  that  enabled the users to record calls using any third-party app  without having to root their devices. The latest Android update though renders non-root call recording apps useless, thus, making it difficult for some users to record calls for security or privacy reasons. It could be related to the Android Pie security changes, which blocks apps in the background from accessing your microphone and camera. Rooted apps still work, but if you are wary of voiding the warranty by rooting your phone, you are not alone. So here are a few nifty workaround

JioGigaFiber Registrations are Now Open, But Getting a Connection Might Take Time

Early last month at its 41st Annual General Meeting, Reliance Jio announced its FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) broadband service –  JioGigaFiber . The company claimed that its fiber broadband  service will be rolled out simultaneously across 1,100 cities  in the country, with registrations starting from August 15. Well, as you might have already guessed it, registrations for the JioGigaFiber service are now open on the company’s website and on the MyJio app, however, there’s a catch. Registering for the service right now won’t guarantee that you’ll get a JioGigaFiber connection as soon as it’s released. The company’s registration formality is a feasibility survey of sorts which will help it decide which areas to target first. Areas which receive the most registrations will get JioGigaFiber services first, with other areas following at a later time. As of now, the company hasn’t disclosed any pricing information or revealed a timeline about the rollout, although it is expected that

Realme 2 Accidentally Leaked on Company’s Website

An image of the upcoming Realme 2 was recently leaked on the company’s  website ahead of the official announcement. The image, which has since been taken down, gives a good look at the front and back of the Realme 2. The photos weren’t accompanied with any information about the device, but it does reveal that the upcoming device will succumb to the notch trend. While that isn’t much to go on, the image also reveals that the device will have a  dual camera setup on the back , unlike the single camera setup on the Realme 1, and it’ll also be sporting a  fingerprint sensor on the back , something which the Realme 1 lacked altogether. Quite like the Realme 1, its successor will also sport a geometric design on the back, with the phone possibly being made available in at least two colors – blue and black. From the looks of it,  the Realme 2 looks an awful lot like the Oppo F7  with minor differences. This leads us to believe that the Realme 2 might also be powered by the same Medi

As for the device’s spec

Controversial Kimbho App Taken Down From Play Store Again After Second ‘Soft Launch’

Another day, another version of the  swadeshi  messenger, another chain of complaints from users, and another hasty takedown – it seems  yoga guru  Baba Ramdev’s plan to launch a home-brewed messaging app which replaces WhatsApp is stuck in circle. After boasting about the restructured and now encrypted  Kimbho  messenger which was  soft launched (for the second time)  on India’s 72nd Independence Day, the  app appears to have been taken down again . The app is set to launch officially on August 27 and as of now, it is difficult to tell why it was removed a second time.
