BCCL ET reported last month that the government has prepared a list of 245 more Chinese apps including PUBG which could be banned on concerns of data security. This comes after fresh tensions on the border between India and China. The ministry of electronics and IT on Wednesday, issued orders to ban 118 more Chinese apps after banning 59 apps in the first round. The new apps include popular mobile gaming app  PUBG , and apps from the stable of  Baidu, Tencent and Xiaomi. ET reported last month that the government has prepared a list of  275  more Chinese apps including PUBG which could be banned on concerns of  data security . Apple and Samsung should watch out. Yet another rival smartphone manufacturer has announced a significant breakthrough in camera technology – and this time there’s video. In a video tweeted by perennial leaker,  Ice universe , Xiaomi shows off the unreleased smartphone alongside the current model which features a punch-hole style camera in the top-left of the display. Maintaining the quality of the camera and display are two huge challenges when developing an under-screen camera. However, other than the obvious lack of punch-hole on the new model, there appears to be little visible difference between the two displays other than a small variation in brightness and color temperature. The video also makes it impossible to judge the quality of the new camera. A demonstration selfie is taken and the results look fine, but no direct comparison is made to the current punch-hole version. Now, the government has reportedly taken an official decision to ban a total of 59 Chinese apps in the country. The news comes from PIB in a press release. Apparently, the decision has been taken for apps  “which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order. ” The list of apps that have been banned includes the likes of TikTok which has been banned in India in the past as well. UPDATE: Vodafone is now back up and running It’s one of the most popular mobile networks across the UK, but it seems that Vodafone is experiencing issues this afternoon. According to Down Detector, the problems started at around 12:25 BST, and are affecting users across the UK. Of those who reported issues, 62% said they were having issues with their home broadband, 19% with their mobile phone, and 17% with their mobile internet. Speaking to Mirror Online, a Vodafone spokesperson said: "We had a technical fault affecting calls to and from fixed telephone networks. "This began shortly after midday, and we fixed the issue at around 14.15.   Samsung is bringing its digital lending platform, ‘Samsung Finance+’ to the doorsteps of customers across India. The new service is part of the company’s plans to make it easier for people to buy Galaxy smartphones on monthly installments. The service is already available across 12,000 dealers in nearly 300 towns around the country, but customers had to walk-in at select dealerships to apply for a loan. To make use of the new service, folks wanting to buy a Samsung smartphone need to contact their nearby Samsung dealer, who will then send a Samsung rep to the prospective customer’s house. The Samsung rep will help the customer complete the application and KYC paperwork from the comfort of their own home.
