“iOS 12.1.3 mostly includes bug fixes for your iPhone or iPad”
Apple has rolled out a consumer-ready update of watchOS 5.1.3 and iOS 12.1.3 after testing it across four betas in the past few weeks. Along with these, the company also rolled out the tvOS 12.1.2, macOS 10.14.3 updates which largely pertain to bug fixes and security enhancements, similar to the iOS 12.1.3 which is also a minor update. The Cupertino giant has also released notes mentioning the highlights of the update which have been listed below.
As per the release notes, the update fixes an annoying bug that prevented scrolling through photos in the Details view on the Messages app. It also fixes a bug that caused audio distortion when using external audio input devices on iPad Pro (2018). The update also squashes a bug that caused disconnection between CarPlay systems and iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max devices.
The iOS 12.1.3 update will also be released for HomePod and it fixes two major bugs. The HomePod had a bug that caused random restarts on the smart speaker which is now addressed. Also, Siri’s random inactivity has also been fixed with the said firmware. As of now, there aren’t any new features detected on the new update but if anything new comes up, we will make sure to keep you updated.
The iOS 12.1.3 update is now rolling out to all eligible devices and if you haven’t seen it yet on your device, you can check it out by navigating to to Settings > General > Software Update. The previous 12.1.2 update came with a fix for eSIM activation issues and tweaked some iPhone functionality in China to remove features that infringed on Qualcomm’s patents.
