“The 2019 iPhones will reportedly have the camera upgrades as the headline makers for the year”
A new note, based on information obtained from the supply and production chain by noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, has revealed potential details about the upcoming 2019 iPhones. According to the report, the camera upgrades will be the biggest changes to be present in this year’s iPhones and present a wholesome overall upgrade to all the cameras of all the three iPhones that are slated to be released.
According to the report, the iPhone XSsuccessor will reportedly get a 12MP single-camera unit in the front, up from the 7MP front camera sensor that the present generation device uses. To the rear, the 2019 iPhone XS model will get three cameras, including a standard wide-angle unit, an ultra wide angle unit and a telephoto unit. Apparently, all of the three cameras will feature 12MP sensors made by Sony. The successor to the iPhone XS Max, which is predictably expected to feature a 6.5-inch OLED display, is also expected to retain the exact same camera configuration as the 2019 iPhone XS, which is expected to come with a smaller, 5.8-inch OLED display.
The iPhone XR successor, meanwhile, is finally expected to upgrade from a single rear camera unit to a dual camera unit. While no sensor or resolution details have been offered, we expect to see a wide angle and telephoto camera combination in this device, similar to what Apple presented with the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 8 Plussmartphones. We may also see the iPhone XR successor use the same Sony sensors as its more expensive brethren, in line with what Apple has presented so far. Like last year, the iPhone XR successor is still expected to feature a 6.1-inch display with an LCD panel. This may be a bit of a disappointment for some, since Applefanboys have been clamouring for range-wide use of OLED displays of late. Lastly, the company is said to be using “black lens-coating technologies that will make the lens look inconspicuous.”
It is unclear if Apple’s 2019 iPhones will be 5G-enabled, or not. With its dispute against Qualcomm now settled, Apple will possibly have access to Qualcomm’s production chip for 5G modems. However, there have been no reports of 5G iPhones as of now, and it is unlikely that the cameras will be the major talking point if 5G iPhones are rolled out for the first time.
