Nokia 9 PureView reportedly launching in India by April-end

“HMD Global’s latest flagship with the penta camera setup is expected to come to India very soon”

The Nokia 9 PureView (first impressions) was announced at the Mobile World Congress in February this year. It is the first phone in the world to feature five rear cameras. In late March, the Twitter handle for Nokia India, tweeted a teaser for the Nokia 9 PureView. This hinted that HMD Global will be bringing the phone to the country. However, we did not have any idea when it would arrive. Now though, a new report sheds some new light on the Nokia 9 PureView India launch. According to a new report, it will be available by the end of April.

The report comes from NokiaPowerUser, who has heard from retail sources about the launch of the phone in the country. While an exact date wasn’t provided, the sources did state that the Nokia 9 PureView will be launched in India by the end of this month. There’s about 10 days remaining in this month, so we might see an official announcement very soon. HMD Global will host an event to launch the phone.

The Nokia 9 PureView price in India is expected to be around Rs 46,999 or more, the report says. The phone will be competing with other flagships such as the Google Pixel 3OnePlus 6TiPhone XRGalaxy S10e, and others. The phone is already available for purchase in the United States and is up for pre-orders in several European regions. Apart from India, the phone should also be available in other South Asian markets.

To refresh your memory, the Nokia 9 PureView features a 5.99-inch pOLED display with QHD+ resolution, HDR10 support, in-display fingerprint scanner, and bezels all around. The phone is powered by last year’s Snapdragon 845 processor, which is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The main feature of this phone, is the penta camera setup at the back. It comprises of two 12-megapixel RGB sensors and three 12-megapixel monochrome sensors. A 20-megapixel sensor is available for selfies and everything is backed by a 3,320mAh battery with fast charging support. It also features wireless charging and runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box.
