Rumored Redmi Note 9 May be Launched as the Redmi 10X in China

Xiaomi unveiled the  Redmi Note 9 Pro  and  Note 9 Pro Max  last month even as the standard Redmi Note 9 remained conspicuous by its absence. A report earlier this month suggested that the company is  finally fixing to launch the entry-level model  in its much-loved mid-range phablet lineup, but a new report out of China now suggests that the device (model number M2003J15SC), which was being thought of as the possible Redmi Note 9, may actually be marketed as the  Redmi 10X , which we first heard of last month. The basis of the report is a listing in the China Telecom database, which has added a new device called Redmi 10X that has pretty much identical hardware to the device that was being rumored as the Redmi Note 9 following its TENAA certification. The Redmi 10X comes with the  Mediatek Helio G85 chipset with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of built-in storage . The China Telecom listing further reveals that the device will ship Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top. It will also apparen

WhatsApp Pay Will Comply With Data Localization Laws in India by May: Report

WhatsApp has reportedly told the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) that its payments business will comply with all regulations in the country by May. According to sources quoted by  ET ,  WhatsApp Pay  will finally get a license for the nationwide rollout of its UPI payments platform once the service ensures full compliance with all regulations. The proposed payments service has remained in limbo for more than two years due to  concerns over its non-compliance  with India’s data localization regulations and sharing of that data with its parent company, Facebook. According to a government official said to be familiar with the developments, the NPCI originally wanted to give a partial go-ahead to WhatsApp Pay subject to certain conditions, but the agency eventually decided to  “play it safe since a court case is still on and it wants to give the approval only after Whatsapp has met all the criteria and the Court’s permission” .  The RBI had earlier directed NPCI  to not allow

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced people indoors and gaming has now become one of the biggest past times for netizens across the globe. Everyone’s finding new ways to keep themselves entertained and well, Facebook has debuted its own game streaming mobile app called  Facebook Gaming …to contribute to the cause. The Facebook Gaming app allows users to not only watch streams but also broadcast their favorite games and show off their skills. The app went live on Android (Free) just a few hours ago. I briefly tested out the Facebook Gaming mobile app – both watching and streaming games. So, here’s your first look at the app, along with my thoughts on Facebook’s game streaming ambitions: Facebook Gaming: UI/UX Right off the bat, the Facebook Gaming app feels a lot like the main Facebook app. You have a huge brand placement, with search, notification, and the profile icons at the top. It is coupled with a four-tab navigation bar, including the feed, instant games, explore, and messaging secti

iPhone 12 Facing Production Delays, iPhone SE Plus Postponed: Ming-chi Kuo

We’ve been getting quite a bit of information about the iPhone 12 over the past few days, including  CAD based renders  of the upcoming smartphone, and reports about the  iPhone 12’s notch . Now, in a new investor note released by famed Apple analyst Ming-chi Kuo, he has outlined some new information regarding the iPhone 12’s production as well as the iPhone SE shipments and market demand. iPhone SE Pre-orders According to Kuo’s note, the  iPhone SE’s pre-order numbers were better than market expectation . In fact, by Kuo’s estimates, Cupertino will sell around  12-14 million iPhone SE units in Q2 2020 , and 10 million in Q3. However, he added that the reason behind this massive adoption of the ‘cheaper’ iPhone could be that the pandemic is making customers reconsider buying expensive phones — Kuo says that Apple’s flagship line-up (iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max) could be affected by this. iPhone 12 Production Delays Kuo also said that due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Apple is  lagging

Instagram to Add a ‘Remembering’ Tag on Memorialized Profiles

Of what looks like a feature that makes more sense now more than ever due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Instagram is working to revamp its Facebook-like account memorialization feature in a more visualized manner. Instagram has had account memorialization feature for a while  now but currently, there are no visual elements to identify memorialized profiles on the platform. With this development,  you’ll soon see a ‘Remembering’ tag  on memorialized profiles. “We’re making changes to help people identify if an Instagram account belongs to someone who has passed away. We’ll have more to share on this at a later time.”,   confirmed  Instagram Comms on Twitter. In addition to the ‘Remembering’ tag, Instagram will show a landing page when a user visits a memorialized profile. The text in the page reads  “This account has been memorialized. Memorialized accounts are a place to remember and celebrate someone’s life after they’ve passed away” . Jane Manchun Wong @wongmjane  ·   Apr 21,
