We also several announcements for exciting smartphones that are lined up to be launched in the country this month. The Beijing-based smartphone maker, Xiaomi started the year with a bang by launching its Redmi series as anindependent brand. The first handset to be launched under the Redmi umbrella is the Redmi Note 7, which happens to be the first Redmi phone to feature a glass-sandwich design, 48MP rear camera and a waterdrop notch. The Xiaomi Managing Director, Manu Kumar Jain has been teasing the launch of Redmi Note 7 in India for a while now and a recent leak has confirmed that it will be launched this month. There are slim chances that the Redmi Note 7 Pro with Sony’s 48-megapixel sensor will also launch alongside the regular variant.

Vivo recently sent out media invites for the launch of a new smartphone in India on February 20th. It was being speculated that the invite is likely for the launch of the Vivo V15 and its Pro sibling. A recent exclusive leak by 91mobiles has confirmed that it is indeed the Vivo V15 Duo that’s launching in the country on that date and pre-orders will begin February 15th. As per our sources, the Vivo V15 Pro will come with an elevating 32MP selfie camera and an under-display fingerprint scanner. Other features include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 chipset, and a triple-camera module. It’s expected that the smartphone will be priced under Rs 30,000 and the regular V15 will carry a sub-Rs 25,000 price tag.
If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last month or so, you would know that Samsung is targeting millennials with its all-new M series. The brand has launched the Galaxy M10 and M20 as the debut phones in the range. Both the Galaxy M10 and M20 come with Samsung’s latest Infinity V panel that has a small waterdrop-style cut-out up top. The Samsung Galaxy M10 is more affordable of the two, while the Galaxy M20 flaunts a beefy 5,000mAh battery, fast charging tech, new Exynos 7904 chip, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Flipkart recently put up a teaser of an upcoming OPPO smartphone with under-display fingerprint scanner and affordable price point. The website has now confirmed that the phone is OPPO K1 and it will be launched in India on February 6th. The OPPO K1 is expected to be one of the most affordable in-display fingerprint reader-toting smartphones. As far as the specs are concerned, the smartphone will offer an edge-to-edge 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, a dual-camera module on the rear, and a 3,600mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy S10 / Galaxy S10 Plus / Galaxy S10 Lite
Samsung is all set to launch its Galaxy S10 series at its Unpacked Event on February 20th. We can expect the South Korean brand to launch Galaxy S10 Lite/E, Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+ alongside the 5G variant and possibly, a foldable handset. While these smartphones will not go on sale immediately in India, we can expect the pre-booking to start towards the end of the month. The Galaxy S10 series will be the first from the chaebol to flaunt Infinity-O display, Samsung Exynos 9820 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, depending on the region. Other expected features include up to 12GB RAM, 1TB storage, triple rear cameras, a 4,000mAh battery and punch-hole dual front cameras in the high-end S10+ version.
